- 4 years as Team Leader of product development team. Direct line supervisor of 2 engineers, 1 designer, 1 detailer, 1 model maker, and a test technician.
Sr. Project Release Engineer, Body Closures/Spaceframe, Saturn Corporation, Spring Hill, Tennessee 1994-1998
- Led project teams for several product development projects.
- Managed all aspects of projects including timing, cost, and human resources.
- Led the current vehicle project engineering team in the implementation and maintenance of QS-9000 certification. Implemented systems to conform to written procedures as described in Quality Manuals, Saturn Business Procedures, and Engineering Business Processes.
- Lead Engineer for vehicle exterior systems work group. Consisted of two current vehicle engineers and one designer. As a team, reduced warranty, part cost, and ergonomic issues. The team improved plant throughput and JD Power scores through design optimization.
Vehicle Project Engineer, Sedan, Coupe, SUV, Saturn Corporation, Spring Hill, Tennessee 1998-2006
- Managed all aspects of several major product development and quality projects including engineering, purchasing, supplier quality, and finance. Led project teams within a matrixed organization, with no direct reports.
- Lead Engineer for transition from Saturn engineering systems to GM engineering systems. This included identification of business system differences, training needs, required team structure, and hardware/software needs.
